A song for Albuixech
I’ve had some ideas around creating music for imaginary films that don’t exist by taking audio recordings of anything and writing complementary music. Music can steer emotions, suggest meaning, and surface ideas that sometimes aren’t obviously accessible. It’s a pretty powerful tool in that regard. Music can also be hilarious, a vehicle for political expression, and even be used as a weapon. In this case, I’m just messing around with some ideas and need a place to organize it all.
So, I took an audio recording of a bar in Spain from Freesound and decided to write some music for it. The Freesound recording is here: https://freesound.org/people/Fabian_Palacio/sounds/829835/. Funnily enough, they mention “Barcelona” in this bit which is where I’m currently living. This first one’s called A song for Albuixech — a place I’ve never even been to.
